I could lend you one mate. Not sure you would be thanking me when it came to tidying it up though.
I cut the back off a 240 estate once just before it got scrapped.A really weird feeling cutting into my old car.My go at a pickup.Shame it was so rotten everywhere as it looked quite easy to convert otherwise.
Regards Brian.

Swedish motoring magazine "Teknikens Värld" made a 760 GLC in 1985 (the C of course stands for Cabriolet) in a very light blue colour as an experiement. The car still exists and fetch (VERY) good money.

I can tell it was a special project/concept... the 760 is a 4 door, and I've never seen a 4 door convertable... so this must have been a project of some kind as I'm sure Volvo wouldn't have made a 2 door 760 as a standard production run... look nice though..

Looking at the wheelbase and panels, I'd guess that a 780 coupe laid down it's life for that particular cabriolet, the front and rear lights are obviously from a saloon though.

You would be wrong then...this 760GLc is a one off build using a saloon as a base. Take a look at the panel architecture of both (780 & 760) you'll see the differences (and other details too).

Absolutely correct! The 780 was only presented in 1985. You can also see that there are many differences between the 760 GLC and a 780, the design of the seats would probably be the main difference + colour of the interior. The dasboard design of the 780 is different from that of the 760 of the same time. The 780 doors are also huge compared to the 760.

The blue 760 GLC was recently sold in the Netherlands at Volvo specialist Carlo Schmidt. My 944 GLE 16V is getting her maintenance at that address.

Another white example is owned by a Dutch Volvo collector.

This black example is amazing. Colour and trim can transform a car.
I never knew about this black beauty! Is it for sale?
