Would you be able to post the link to the price list please?

No need. It was at the beginning of this thread. DOH!

I have noticed something wrong with the online configurator; MY19 pricelist is showing 8-spoke 20” alloys as standard with Inscription Pro model and 5-spoke 20” alloys as ‘no cost option’. However, when I am adding 5-spoke 20” alloys to my Inscription Pro build the confirgurator is adding additional £850, which it shouldn’t as per the pricelist.

I have chased my dealer regarding the delivery date and this is the reaponse that I got from them this morning:

“I have checked the delivery times. The factory have given us n estimated date of Mid June.

This is an estimation. Please don’t take this as a solid date. It may be sooner or a little bit later.

As to the time you have left to change your spec is the 20th April.”

I am not sure if this is a generic response or more relevant to my personal order. Does this mean the factory have accepted my order? If it has then would there be an order number associated to my order?

I have sent another email to the dealer with all these questions; let’s see what they say!!

The configurator also doesn’t show the tailored dashboard in the image of the interior, as the old one did, which is why I had a bit of a spasm yesterday, when I was going through it.

Possibly a work in progress?

Looks like it is WIP because the online configurator is back to MY18.5

These inaccuracies occur every year on model change. They usually get it right eventually.

You'd think it was rocket science...

Default Signing of Contract

I am back again asking you lot for some information on contracts:

Initially, when I negotiated the final price of the car that I was going to order the sales manager said that once I pay the deposit a contract will be signed. I paid the deposit and then I haven’t heard anything from them regarding signing of the contract. I sent an email to them this morning to query that and have been informed that there is no contract that needs signing apart from the finance documents, that will be signed at the time of delivery.

My question is: is there a contract (or should there be one) that is signed in cases like mine i.e. factory order of a new car. From my recent experience with another dealer recently with whom I first placed my order and paid deposit (although, the sale fell apart due to Volvo’s driftwood supply issues......or so I was told!!), I signed a contract with them. If a contract is usually signed in these cases then is it advantageous for me to insist for one or is it better to ignore it!! By not having a contract in place would they be getting away if they don’t stick to the deivery dates, agreed price....so on & so forth?

Thank you in advance once again.

Will your car be PCP or PCH?
I know that PCH deals are with Santander (Volvo branded) and I did not sign a contract until I collected the car last week. I did have to sign the finance docs so credit check could be performed. I was glad I didnt sign a contract as I discovered earlier this month price had dropped from original agreement in Jan and full marks to the dealer that they and me came to a compromise which we were both happy with.

Thanks for your response. My car will be on PCP finance option, which is also with Santander Consumer Finance t/a Volvo Financial Services. I understand the finance contract (or more appropriately called the Consumer Credit Agreement) is relevant to the finance side of things and will be signed at the time of collecting the car. However, when I meant ‘signing of contract’ in my post I was actually referring to a contract that is signed between the buyer and the dealer outlining the sale conditions like for example the price agreed, delivery dates, termination clauses and so on...

My order is on a PCH basis and so far I have signed and returned a "proposal form" which the credit checks have been carried out against and a "vehicle order and agreement form" which was to confirm my desired spec and options. This latter form did have loads of figures on it about car price, options price etc, but as I'm buying through a PCH agreement, and I've done a deal based on a monthly cost, I crossed these out and quoted the PCH quote number I had agreed to.

It's hard to understand what actual deal you've managed to secure under a PCH quote, but I've been assured I secured a healthy discount off list, the monthly price is very competitive...and hence I've tuned myself out of these "other" figures.

I'm yet to sign an actual PCH finance contract but my dealer say's that will be done when the factory accepts the order and has a VIN number/build slot allocated to the vehicle (which can't happen until they start accepting MY19 orders!!). As it's PCH I have also not had to put down a single penny upfront.

This experience is different to my current XC60 that is also through PCH. That was dealt with through the dealers business arm (a PCH couldn't be done through the Retail arm, only PCP, and I think I was the first person they had had who took out a Personal Lease rather than a Business one through that route). The first thing I signed on that occasion was a finance contract based on the PCH quote. But in the intervening four years it looks like PCH has become a popular way to finance a car and this order has been done through the retail arm in the same way as if I'd wanted a PCP, or walked in with a large suitcase full of used notes!!

All in all it's been a very relaxed affair so far.....I just want the factory to accept the order so I can start to get really excited!!
