Locking pliers
This bolt is usually not very tight, so just use normal pliers or locking pliers.

I also used the slot method, but i used an angle grinder with a thin cutting disk.
The fuel ecu (984) coding is only for the immobiliser not the alarm as such, its always on and uses the chip in the key for authorisation, whether the alarm is armed or not. Theives are more likely to steal keys these days, and a 940 is not a valuable enough target. The alarm disables the starter motor, so this is unaffected by chipping. |

Hi,
I think I undid the torx screws holding the frame to the body. Much easier! Des. . .

IIRC Same, Mashed it up enough to get a good purchase, eventually. 15 mins? More like 2 hours!

I've got the two front torque screws out, but can't seem to get to the others, they seem to be behind the ECU towards the back. Where are the others hiding? Mines a 98. Thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by the two front ones (maybe it's different from mine), but the two attaching the frame to the body are very challenging to get to. You need a sort of "low profile" torque key.

In the photo on the 1st post in this thread you can see the "front two" I'm talking about. The top one is just visible below the coloured wires at the top, the lower one right down by the carpet. I just used a standard torque head on a ratchet and they are both easily accessible, with those two out the cage comes away from the footwell at the front. But it would seem there are more fixings at the back nearer the pedals that are inaccessible. I'll have another look in the day, overwise i'll just slot the head as suggested.
