Thinking of getting an S80
I've currently got an S60 which i love and has been faultless in the 2 years i've owned it, but i fancy the S80, i see you guys are having a few probs with the S80/V70, i wanted to know whether anyone has had no faults at all and whether i should change for a 1 to 2 year old S80?

I had an S60 2.4t for 7 years and loved it, but just got an S80 and find it a lot more refined, quieter.
I have only just got it run in and so far no problems apart from the odd squeak and rattle, but overall, I found the build quality good (hope I am not tempting fate) Reading forums mainly you only read about people having problems so difficult to get a balanced view. I am also fortunate having a good local main dealer who sorts problems, without a song and dance which unfortunately reading here isn’t always the case. So my advice for what it’s worth, is go for it, you wont regret it. |

I have had a 2007 S80 D5 for nine months now, and still relish each opportunity I have to drive it. It's powerful, fast, responsive, quiet, handles well and has fantastic brakes. The seats are the most comfortable I've ever used, leaving you feeling fresh after very long journeys. The sound system is awesome too.
No problems with it so far, and the most recent 18k service cost just £209, so I am pleased with it in that respect. It's by no means economical fuel wise, but if you are looking for a cheap runner you should look elsewhere. Hope that helps, Rob |
