Default DEM Repair

Hi BBA-Reman in kent repair them I have just had my DEM in at them however I had a call from them today to say that it has checked out all ok. Input and output current is as per manufacturers spesification. It was volvo that told me it was knackerd and needed replaced and like you was not willing to pay the £1400 quoted.Iam just off the phone to my mate who is a volvo mechanic and his now going to check the communications between the DEM and what ever it is that throws the fault.I will not get the DEM back from BBA until wednesday but will keep you posted.BBA charged £66 to test that includes postage and VAT, it takes around 5 days for them to pick it up from you test and send back to you. What makes you think its your DEM is goosed ? Just google BBA-Reman you will find their phone number on their website give them a call the guy talks you through what to do could not be nicer. I hope this helps

Hi wallworkpete,

What problems did you have with the DEM?

I have a similar story to gazza1962.

Keep posting about the progress.

Gazdock as I said I get my DEM unit back from BBA on wed. I will pass it to my mate probably on Thursday who will stick it back on his diagnostic kit. He says he will get to the bottom of the problem, he said he needs to get the error message showing up again then will check the communications that deliver the message and take it from there. He did say that it was worth the cost of getting the DEM checked even if it was just to eliminate the DEM out of the problem.I will keep you posted with any developments.I have started a new thread re DEM asking if anyone has any idea what to try next now that my DEM is checking out as being faultless.

What problems was your DEM causing?
What DTCs did you have?

I am wondering whether my problem is dry solder joints because my AWD is present when I start, but I get problems when things warm up, i.e. the cracks expand and I loose AWD.

I do not know whether my DEM was tested when warmer.
