Come on, Tony

Cheers,

T

Nice to see you two lads make up lol!

Very much appreciate the feedback as there is really very little information out there on this particular vehicle type. Will keep you updated as things progress. Cheers and once again many Thanks.

Default Update

Totally appreciate the assistance provide by FRF in Swansea this afternoon.

Been provided with the information that I need in relation to the comparison of my 855AWD VIN and the V70 AWD R VIN which I was able to provide them.

The information to say the least, is superb news and exactly what I was hoping for... so now time to start planning the engine replacment in terms of purchasing costs £€£€£€£€£€£€£€£€ so need to start saving somewhat (a lot!) as will do the installation of parts myself next year - so will save on labour costs in that respect.

So next year I should have an 855 AWD R completed around about by Sept / October and then get it reclassifed as a 2.3T AWD.

ya, it's weird how they changed the driveshaft a few times through 97-99.. other than that though, all the same AWD wise.

Few reasons I guess - first I never liked the more rounded v70 look. The 850 looks more aggressive and more "brick-like" whereas in my own personal opinion I find the v70 very boring to look at. Secondly, as the 855awd is a lot less common,it makes sense to myself in many ways to work on it as the number of 850's on the road is rapidly diminishing.

I'm not bothered about the cost that will go into this project either as it's a hobby more than anything else and true, though I can buy a functioning V70 that option really doesn't interest me

I'm the opposite to you....prefared the V70R and I was indeed the proud owner of the front wheel drive version for 7 long and happy years.....oh I miss that car

I admire a chap that likes to be different..........so good luck with your project. Just wish I too also had the time (and the money) to make my car stand out from the crowd
