The whole road legal and mot thing really bores me!
Compared to these new cars or vehicles with headlights higher off the ground like trucks - they utterly blind you. These 100w wont be a patch on newer cars and so long as the beam is good mot will be just fine! However, yes I would be concerned about the heat generated. Iv fitted 80w and they are great, brighter and whiter with really well defined beam. No one has flashed me - again because most other cars on the road including new volvos - are ridiculously bright. So good on you for fitting these, hopefully they wont melt anything. If your worried, fit 80w. |

It might well do but the Construction & Use Regulations are there, whether you like them or not, and should be complied with whether you agree with them or not. People have merely pointed this out and the possible consequences of non-compliance. I have no problem with freedom of speech or action and I do think that there are unnecessary, and sometimes apparently restrictive, Regulations in place, but they are there.
Edit: Just looked again at the OP's photograph of his car and it's carrying a French plate so presume the local CT applies to this particular car and I've no idea what the French do regarding testing lights.

Indeed I am in France. Got the bulbs from Amazon.fr. Sold as straight swap with many top (French) reviews. Plus one standard bulb in a local Halfrauds type was 14,90 euros. I got these in a pack of 4 for 11,50 euros, lol.

Beware the excessive current
Quote:
NB Beware the excessive current draw which will eventually cause the dipped beam fuse(s) to blow.

Got round to fixing my heated seat with a temp/perm repair, need to eventually replace the seat as it has split seams but for now warm backside and back on cold mornings.

My S60 sailed through its MOT today, it’s only done 1400 miles in the last year so I was hoping it would be an easy one
