Hello!

Does anyone have how-to articles or info from VIDA whit service information on how to service and replace things in the manual parking brake on the S80 P3??

Hello, I don’t know how proficient you are with brake maintenance but it’s a fairly basic spannering job. It’s easier to see it done than to try and explain it so do a search on YouTube “Volvo s80 parking brake”. There are a number of “how tos” on there. The disc appears to be what I term a “top hat” disc as it incorporates a drum in which the parking brake shoes reside and operate. My old 940 has a similar arrangement with slightly different shoe retaining springs. The hardest parts are 1) removing the disc/drum if it has a lip and 2) removing those shoe retaining springs and 3) re -fitting the shoes and return springs and that strut. Secret with that is to assemble/fit the shoes and springs then prise the shoes apart to insert the strut.
