Default Possible DMF fault on XC90

I have a 2010 manual 185 hp XC90 and recently have noticed a slight vibration through the clutch pedal. It occurs just when the clutch is depressed, at the start of the clutch pedal travel. Once the clutch pedal is pushed down by more than about 20% of its travel it goes. It is new and quite mild. Volvo dealer says that it might be the DMF (at 15000 miles???!!!) and that for minute I should just keep an eye on it to see if it gets worse.

My questions would be: should I sit and wait to see if it gets worse (im concerned that it might not but then go later on in the cars life). And as it is part of the clutch/transmission can I be confident that it would be covered by the standard manufacturer warranty later on as clutches and related assemblies are often considered 'wear and tear' items?

I asked the dealer to make a note of the fault on their records but I’m still not sure if I should push to get it looked at/attended to or if (as it is admittedly a slight vibration) I should just see how it goes.

I do tow a caravan with it but the van is less than 70% of the cars kerbweight so isn’t the heaviest van by a long way and it hasn’t been subjected to lots of low speed/gradient type manoeuvring which I know might put pressure on the clutch and transmission
Any thoughts or opinion from anyone with more knowledge than I have would be appreciated. Thanks

There should be no vibration felt through the clutch pedal , yours is abnormal , its not exacly going to cure itself ...

I've got a 2006 manual and it occasionally gives a bit of vibration through the clutch pedal, usually when setting off in first.

I too was worried that it was the DMF. However, a bit of googling showed some other manual Volvos with a similar characteristic - the main thing is it only occurs in the winter when the cars been sat unused in the wet. There seems to be some correlation with damp weather and the vibration. So at this time of year, absolutely no judder. If I recall, it was explained as something to do with the type of friction material used in the clutch.

However, my symptoms may be different to yours, so best to make sure you've investigated everything.
