Got a call from the dealer this morning to confirm my replacement vehicle. It was followed by an email with a copy of the factory order. Anticipated delivery is end Sep so only 6 weeks to wait.
The dealer has acted very quickly to secure the replacement car so extra points to them for that. |

Sorry Lexman8 I know it has been a trauma for you but it has been a better soap opera than East Enders with Volvo playing Dirty Den and you playing Cathy (you can tell the last time I watched Enders). I have logged on daily to watch the progress.
I think you have got the right result but still nobody has owned up to painting the door and Volvo have not covered themselves in glory. However, your dealer appears to be doing the right thing by you now. Once you have your new car and have posted door pics on here you should send the link of this thread to your dealer and Volvo UK with the stats of the thread. Well done on keeping your cool. |

Bumps, scuffs and corresponding remedial work occur on a daily basis on production lines. With any manufacturer, believe me!
It happens, and it gets sorted at the plant long before the transport courier, and then the supplying dealership, even have eyes on the car. Most, further down the chain, never even know it's occurred and unless they've clocked the repair, won't even notice and will supply the car as is. It good to see that they are supplying a new vehicle as soon as schedules allow. You'll be hard pushed to try and prove who knew/didn't know/suspected/ a repair had taken place prior to delivery. Chances are, unless the dealership themselves caused the damage or spotted the repair, they themselves will be none the wiser and certainly won't be notified if remedial work had been carried out on the line. They will be doing their best to try and make sure this next delivery goes as smooth as. Good luck with the new motor!
