Xc90 vs. X5
Hi all,
Do you guys think that the X5 is a better car than the XC90? Is this the general consensus of the forum members? Thanks |

I never got around to looking at the X5 properly as it was at least £10k more to buy for the same spec. So you can do all the comparing you like, but they are not equal on price.

Purchased our new XC90 last October but looked pretty hard at all the 4x4's first. I looked much harder at the X3 than the X5 because a new X3 is a much more comparable price after discounts. An X5 is a lot more money.
Why did we buy the XC90? Mainly comfort. We did not like the seats in either the X3 or X5 and found both much more difficult to get into/ out of. In common with most BMW's they also suffer from very "jiggly" ride that makes anything but smooth roads unpleasant. The bigger the wheels the truer the problem. Whilst it shouldn't matter I can't see many X5 owners without having my detremental stereotype of said owners reinforced. The bigger the wheels the truer the problem. |

I drive X5s at work and prefer the XC90. X5 isn't as comfortable, wheels are far too big (expensive tyres!) and build quality isn't as good.
However, you're always going to get a biased opinion on a Volvo forum! |
