tuning 850 t5
I am sure this will have been discussed many times but I cannot find any relevant info.
I have a 94 850 T5 manual that I am looking to tune up - from 225 to around 250 bhp would be enough. The engine is in good shape, ignition from coil onwards replaced a couple of months ago. I have replaced the paper filter in the standard airbox by K&N and have picked up an ECU that I plan to rechip with this one from DP Tuning: It claims to give 300 bhp with free flowing intake and exhaust; I don't plan to change exhuast (although at some point in time I expect it to fall apart so a replacement would be needed) and don't really expect to see 300 bhp. Anyone have any pointers or experience with this chip, and how it is likely to perform with my set up? Would it be necessary to fit silicone air hoses as they are less likely to blow off under the higher pressure? TIA. |
