Default Engine swap

Would a b230fb engine be a relatively straightforward replacement job in my 1989 240gl auto 2.0 (b200e)...
The 230 was an auto so would it bolt straight onto my existing gearbox?

A few posts down look for turbo conversion, my post headed that direction, a lot of good info. I think to summarise from what people have said the auto would ideally be better with a stronger box from a 940, but would work with what you have but the power may brake it. The engine manigment would need upgraded loom, but that is available as plug and play, links in lower post. Everything else should fit. Check what was said about speedo below, not sure where your current drive is picked up from.

The FB is non turbo.

If going down the path of converting to efi then you will need the flexplate for LH2.4 and fit the loom and ecu's. A drop in loom is available.

The other option is to just use the bottom end and fit the B200 head keeping Kjet
