Pretty sure its 2.5". When I had a cat-back system made for my T4 he used 2.5" stainless. I think 2.25" would be a tad too small.

What do diesels have it's quite a big pipe, and I'm suprised you t4 boys don't use it lets more gasses out as it's bigger also it would sound nicer more gasses escaping

I'd be surprised if the diesel has a bigger bore tbh as back pressure is the most important thing on high pressure turbo charged engines, therefore exhaust systems need a lot of research into keeping the them happy.

I need to get a downpipe and race cat sorted to help with exhaust manifold temps on mine as I'm pretty much at the limit now.

Hey Dean,

How did you fix it? Mines the same (although not a T4) and its gone at the flange, with the flange rusted away so it wont hold.

I've tried a few exhaust places but they want to replace the whole lot saying they cant fix it - seems excessive to me?

I was thinking of maybe grinding the flange off and using some sort of patch to hold them together unless anyone has any better ideas?

It happened the day after it passed its MOT thankfully!

David.
