PV: - Choke return spring instalation

Hello friends, I am stuck trying to re install the choke return spring, I think that I have right the end that goes in the notch on the linckage, but do not find the place for the other end, I put it in the knob that is in the carb, but of course that is not the right position.
When I took the bolt of the linckage in the second carb, the whole thing came apart unexpectedly, including the spring, so I am not better off

I can't make out much on the first picture, but on second picture, curved end of spring should be on the other side of peg cast into housing. This is clearly visible here (and the spring preload should obviously be to return the jet to the raised position):

Suggestion: When a disassembly of a complex assembly lies ahead, take record pictures before to help with reassembly after.

I have added arrows to the pictures so you can understand them better, even though I took pictures before disassembly, the detail of the attachment point is not clear, in fact I had the second carb completely assembled and could not figure it out.
In any event, still struggling!

I just released the spring from my training carb (which is also a front carb, so no mirror image direction change!), and the spring-end rotated a full 180Deg plus, clockwise (with authority!**) to the area shown here in green (while other end was still in position on Choke linkage),

...so I believe it is still a preload issue...while keeping one end in Choke linkage, try winding other end CCW until you can hook it over notch in housing...yes, that is a fair amount of preload force! Constructing a hooking loop from a piece of wire with which to pull the end around may help...that's how I'll do it!

** now I need to rehook it also!
