Lambda Warning Light Possible Symptoms?
Hi,
The lambda light came on my car today - still drove fine back from Brighton to London but can anyone give me clues as to why? Should I disconnect the battery and see if this was blip + am I doing any damage driving it around + I noted quite a strong smell (like a stink bomb!) from the car when parking up? Would like some clues to look for under the bonnet if possible! Jonathan Wong 850 T5 CD |

Hi,
Not sure of the truth in this, but I have heard that a loose petrol filler cap can cause this. Jez |

Hi ya,
Worse sinario is that your O2 sensor as died but that would cause an engine check light. You may have a simple Vacuum leak so check around all those hoses under the bonnet. When did you last swap your fuel filter as if this is clogged up would cuase a weak mixture due to lack of fuel. Mark

Depending on year you can get at the fault codes generated by the ECU (if you're in luck there will be the test connector near the filler for the screenwash) Details of how to get at them are in thre haynes manual and at http://www.volvospeed.com/volvo_performance.php
might shed some light on things.... |
