Default tow bars fitters NW

Hi,
I have a Witter bike rack that fits onto a tow bar, but the 2001 V70S that I recently bought needs a tow bar fitted. Can anyone recommend a supplier and fitter? The tow bar must extend past the bumper in order to fit the cycle rack plate so that the vertical tube of the support does not foul the bumper.
The car was bought from Walkdens of Chorley...perhaps someone has had them fit a tow bar?

Thanks
Pete

Hi,

You might want to make sure that whoever fits your new towbar will do so with a Volvo electric kit.

Your car may well have a rear socket fitted for just such a kit for the Volvo towbars and electrics....

This would be better as it activates the instrument panel flasher and beeper and involves no cutting into your cars electrics..

Des, Thanks for the advice. I know that there is a cigarette lighter type socket in the boot space...this isn't the rear socket to which you refer ...is it? If not where should I look for such a thing.
Cheers Pete

It is likely to be, if it is fitted mind (as I have seen it mentioned that it was not!), in the well behind the rear wheel arch.
Possibly on the passenger side, but could be either!

It will look like a multi block connector with at least 6 or 7 connectors for blades to be pushed it. For a blade type connector...
