Default 12v/cig lighter Volvo v40

Right I've got a 2004 v40 and the 12v/cig lighter has stopped working now where can I buy one from and how do I remove it from the consol I've managed to get the consol out but can't get light 12v out of its socket?

Thanks

Andy

The cigarette lighter unit itself is a pretty simple piece, there is not much room to fail. Do check the fuses before taking further action. If you got behind it already, you can check the voltage between the wires coming to it as well.

Look down inside the socket from above and you will see a small Torx headed screw in the centre, undo this and the whole assembly comes apart. If you need to change the bulb as well, have a search on here for posts that detail how to get the bulbholder out. I changed mine, it was a real pita and I cannot remember how I did it. Chinese puzzles and Rubik cubes are child's play compared to changing the bulb.
