Been meaning to ask this for ages, but kept forgetting!!
Some time back, somebody 'whacked' the N/S Rear corner of my bumper and then cleared off. As a result, the O/S of the same has 'popped' away from the car. I thought it would be a simple matter of re aligning some clips, or obtaing new clips and popping it back. When I got behind the bumper though, it looks as if the broken bits are actually part of the bumper itself. The only solution I can see is to replace the whole bumper, but that seems a bit drastic..... Some months ago on ebay there was a 960 for sale that had self tappers through the bumper that was obviously done to resolve this same problem. At the time I thought that the person that did it was mad!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks Paris (why didn't I think of that!). I'll check and see if a screw (or 2) down the inside will be sufficient to hold it.
I'll also have a look down the inside again for the potential of plastic welding. I could be wrong, but from what I recall the bits I would need to weld are no longer there. I'll have a root around later and see what is involved in getting the bumper off completely. Is it just held on from the sides? (I suspect not as mine would probably have come away from the car more by now) |

Have checked and your suggestion will def work as when I push the bumper back it is not under much pressure. Still need to get the whole thing off and have a look at the back of it to check the potential of plastic welding.
