Broken 340Gl for sale or parts required?

Complete 340 GL for sale probably or if not, does anyone have a gearbox front and a bell housing for a manual 1400 in their way that they want to sell cheaply to keep one of these cars on the road?

Its my daughters car and the prop unfortunately appears to have come loose and damaged both ends of the transmission. She has now got herself a new car so I am left with a reasonably tidy 340 in my garden. Its got an Mot until the end of April and has only done 58000 from new. Drives well and passed the last MOT needing only a brand new windscreen and a couple of tyres.

I will put some pictures on my photobucket account tomorrow and put a link here.

I could have it back together again in a day if I had the bits but I'm not prepared to pay some of the prices the breakers seem to ask. Either I need to sell it complete or wait until a cheap scrap car appears I guess.

you are better off getting a complete gearbox assembly if the front splines have rounded off , it is a 2 x dismantle job to change the input shaft .

I bought one for £5,15 years ago !

Have you tried on V3M, http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/
The 300 section on here is a bit quiet, you may have better luck on there.

Yes, I have been talking to a few people on that site too, a few possibilities but still researching really.

Have you not seen the for sale item below?
By user heathen.He has a manual gearbox taken from a 340gle for £40 and lots of other bits related.In Bromley NW kent.
