Is anyone driving to Gothenburg? Or everyone flying?

For those driving to Gothenburg, I would highly recommend using the the E22, particularly if via Hook of Holland or Amsterdam ferries. This is well signposted through Holland and Germany.
In my view what ever you do avoid the Utrecht and Rotterdam area like the plague. The traffic is very heavy, this combined with frequent need to change lanes because of merging of dual carriageways makes for high tension driving.
By comparison I found the E22 quite calm and the 30 km causeway De Weijerhof between Noord-Holland and Friesland is a somewhat unique driving experience.
From the northern German border to Gothenburg, there are a variety of routes that can be taken. As I am keen on engineering feats I wanted to travel over both the Storebaelt Bridge and Oresund Bridge. Both are toll bridges.
The Storebaelt Bridge includes a single span of 1,624 metres which makes it the 3rd longest suspension bridge in the world, only surpassed by bridges in Japan and China.

As an engineer yes both bridges are a must and I'm really looking forward to them (dash cam at the ready), although I think as for the E22 my route only seems to touch it near Doncaster and then Malmo-Lund!
