Default C30 fuel issues

Hi Guys, My son has a '09 C30 that won't start. We called the RAC out and they manually pumped fuel up to the engine and it was fine for a week or so, but now the same issue has occurred. Suggestions are the immobiliser could have turned the fuel pump off or some sort of leak in the fuel line. Any idea's or any C30 known issues. Is it going to be expensive?

Don't own a C30 but it could be a number of things.

Old fuel filters have been known to cause issues.
Could be a worn fuel pump (more so if been stood for a while fuel drains backwards out the line making an air lock in the pipe)
Or something else completely.

Try priming the engine 2/3 times before starting (start position 2 but foot of the clutch so the engine doesn't start).

Maybe worth going a specialist diesel garage for them to run tests on the system.

If it's not had a recent software update maybe worth also going volvo for a service and getting the updates on the computer also. They also do a health check as part of a service so something may pop up. You can price up online or by phone. Also at that age when's the cam belt due or has it been done?
