Rear wheel bearings-recalls in 2008
Hi hope you can help. I have a Volvo XC90 04 plate. There is wear/damage to the rear wheel bearings, it has done 90K.I have been into the Volvo dealership in Warrington(Rydales). they were helpfull enough to tell me that this year model had a "class action?" on it back in April 08 for this very defect and the then owner, did nothing about it!! I was told that this action had expired?! Surely if this was a fault reported then a one year and 7 months lapse should not invalidate the problem, and therefore Volvo have a responsiblity to the customer to follow through and rectify the fault. Has anyone gone down the "I will complain, untill action is taken route" was it succesfull and how do I go about it, who do I approach etc.....Please advise...and thankyou all in advance for your help!

They cant keep these actions open forever they have to have closing dates , they are open for a reasonable time for the possible premature wear to manifest itself and for the owner to notice it and take it in ... not every car is affected , and they will probably deem 5 years and 90000 miles fair wear and tear especialy if it hasnt been serviced at the dealers ...

Thanks Clan, For sure.. this alert was right between two main dealer serviced intervals, the car has a fulll Volvo dealer service history..but I think the point you make will be the dealers point also. No harm in trying.
