Default Problem fixed but dashboard light still on!

hi

first of all thanks to NI Volvo Nut for meetin me and hookin me up with missing bits of trim and cd player

so when i got my volvo the guy told me that the coolant resevoir was leaking veeryyyy slowly, and also the windscreen washer resevoir wasnt holding water, it just ran straight out the bottom when u filled it up so i had to fix that too

anyway today i bought a new battery (cd player works lol) whipped out the airbox, used the compressor on the air filter (tho tbh i think i cud use a new one lol) and also took the windscreen washer resevoir out. so i took it out and gave it a good clean (the filter thing inside is a bit of overkill i reckon the water literally trickles through it lol) as it was full of flies and stuff :s.

also replaced the leaky coolant resevoir.

so i tested the washers and were working 100% so i put everything back together.

warning light still on dash tho, how do i get rid of it? maybe it wont go til volvo resets it or something? or can i do it myself by d/cing battery for a while like in toyotas?

cheers!

(simple problem turned into quite a long post lol)

HI,

If it is the coolant low warning light then that is triggered by the sensor and associated float being low.
Top up with 50/50 mix coolant and water. Failing that you'll need to check the sensor and associated wiring.

Have a look at the articles section and the How to add a coolant low warning as much of the detail is in there.

Problem solved.. Excellent.. But if it fails (light on) then it would be a similar procedure to check/fix..
