Hi guys, so exhaust removed as one unit from DPF to rear boxes.
Prop shaft removed and the rear cv seems ok but the front cv has play side to side (if I turn the cv there will be a few mm play before it turns the prop. But this is at the front unless the sound is transmitted to the rear? So will get the car back together with out prop and take for a test drive and will up date. Can I ask how the center bearing is replaced as might do the whole lot. |

UPDATE.
Ok guys so I have been for a 20mile drive and the noise that has been bugging me for the last 4 months has gone!!! So my question is would this state it is an issue with the prop shaft or am I masking an issue with the diff because the diff is not under load from the prop? Any one got any information to my last post? |

It may be transmitting the noise into the cabin via the centre bearing mount?
In any case you should sort that CV and then try again.

The propshafts on our xc90 looks like they are friction welded after the bearing has been installed, so if you have a bearing go you need a whole new propshaft!!!!
Unless any one else can confirm? |

Hi guys, just been in contact with a propshaft centere with my part no.
Just to confirm if any one else has this issue that if you need to replace your centre bearing on the xc90 prop you have to have the prop cut (as friction welded) to replace the bearing. So a new prop has been placed on order and will update once fitted. Fingers crossed it will sort this issue out! |
