Lance BLACK V70 T5, in reponse to your complaint about locking your thread http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showth...t=25196&page=2
The thread was locked because it was turning into one of these tiring bickering threads that many people are getting sick of. I locked it for that reason, not because of any bias. In future, I would appreciate it if you were unhappy with a thread being locked or anything else for that matter you were to raise the issue with me on this site either publically or privately instead of complaining on another forum without rasing the issue first here.

for quite a while now hamish and nat and before them adam had some fairly frank exchanges of words with the other "tuners" on this forum which resulted in some tension and at time humerous disagreements... since your introduction to the forum you have imo raised the ante with regard to the anamosity between the tuners...your posts are generally aggressive and try in this manor to influence people into taking your side and ultimately the side of volvotuning...this, shows volvotuning on this forum in a bad light and in turn volvotuning supportors such as myself... For example the post fao bobcat was clearly a effort on yours or persons unknown to a) have a dig at bobcat...and b) start a typical "round in circles" shouting match... i appreciate you accepted ic's findings that your post was inappropriate and you conducted the rest of the thread with inteligance and decorum... The other thread you started concerning the 15/08/04 meet was again a dig at bobcat..for whatever reason being it right or wrong is irrelevant imo it was sarky and aggresive... The only other thread i see you have started, even that had the clear undertones of a dig at the voc forum... Quote:
cheers jod

I don't have anything to do with the barrings, Not my department, Im not backing down from anything Ive said , It was ok for people to jump on the slag Vt wagon , but not ok for me to come out with a few home true's, after all Ive been reading this forum from a far for quite some time!
In terms of aggressive , I don't think so, its very much from what I can see an ok for 1 but not for another rule. I do believe this forum is biased to certain users, its ok for one tuner to mock another , but when the shoes on the other foot it changes. Anyway have fun everyone , Im off , Im sure im not wanted on this forum! So I will save IC and Bob the pleasure. Goodbye |

I don't think you should go Lance - hang around a bit as I would hope from this day forth the tuning chat will calm down some what
This forum has a lot to offer from what I can see - as long as we knock this petty crap on the head we can all move on. No more animosity please Drew |

Always makes me smile sometimes how heated people can get about small things, especially on the internet!

I was away at the weekend so I'm not too clear on what went down. I'm sorry to see that you're going - especially under a black cloud. Take care & catch you at one of the meets hopefully

lance, the last thing intended is for you to leave this forum, you have proved that you have useful information to share with other, less aware forum members..., i will always appreciate your backing when countering the volvotuning knockers...FACT...
i just feel you need to adopt a more...attack when attacked stance when it comes to this sensitive subject...at the end of the day lance its the same old stuff "they" throw at volvotuning and it has all been gone over in the past...it is not news and of no interest to 90% of forum members... i have turned the page on this and any other posts of this nature, to date, and i hope you can too and still feel you can add to the debates... cheers jod

The big rant
I have been on for only 2 weeks - paid my money - and as grown up people - each should make up their own mind who to use to tune the car - a call to 3 of them made me only call one back !!! - each to their own - but a drive in a car done by the company you are going to use - before you have it done would stop all of the childish ranting so many do - hope this does not offend any one.

I have to agree absolutely with these last few posts: stay visiting this forum.
It is the only UK based forum that welcomes vigorous debate. As a much older bloke than pretty much all of you , I do find that it is obviously difficult to argue on the web in some circumstances without seeming to or indeed causing offence. The subtlety of face to face discussion, or even an exchange on the 'phone appears to me to be very illusive in this medium. The true resolution to anyone here who does take offence is to take some time to meet the other regulars at one of the performance section meetings. They are made up of a very decent bunch, who have bought stuff from myself and pretty much all of my competitors and allways get on very well. KEEP TUNED IN.... Regards, Don.Norchi. www.kalmar-union.com |
