Smile New S60 owner!!

I went out and bought a S60 2002 d5 s today! Bit the bullet! In Pub now imbibing!

Some geezer from Plaistow. 500 sheets. 4 months MOT. 122k on clock and new clutch/ dmf!
Needs a tyre, oil change and front discs and pads from what I can see.

Slight steering wheel vibration at 60mph. Light steering too? Otherwise seems ok. Just did 150 miles in it.

Any pointers on disc spec 285 mm? and best oil? 0w/40?

Cheers gents. (Just realised that wasn't PC! Well it is Trump Season!)

Has a phone and tv in it, crazy! Swede styli! Turning circle like the orbit of Pluto but was aware of that!

Check the control arm bushings for "intactness".

"500 sheets"? Does that mean you paid £500?

Were there any service records?

Yes it does, just a wide boy phrase!

Any idea of front disc size? Is it 285 mm?

Some paper work. The timing belt was done 4 years ago and it has a new dmf/clutch.

Think I got a good deal. Slight steering wobble. Will check those bushings. Maybe be tracking or wheel balance I suppose.

Hi Matt
Do you have 17inch wheels, if you do you may have 305mm discs, if not you can fit 305mm discs, I got a pair of Delphi 305 for £50 NEW from ebay last year
You will need larger calliper carriers, get some second hand from ebay,
Dave

That's very civil of you sir!

I may well take you up on that when I'm close. You can be my local source of wisdom now I've gone Nordic!

Didn't even realise it has DRL! I knew some Volvo s and Saabs do but hey ho!

Maybe I can check any dtcs and you can give your appraisal!
Btw, is using Vida the only way to talk to the ecu? I have an elm 327 atm from my previous motor.
Cheers fella.

Yes mate. Just got a Bridgestone today 225/45/17 in Pompey. Got a quote of £40 for a pair of 285mm discs from Ecp for Eicher premiums. Don't really wanna spend more on calipers etc, but cheers anyway! Maybe I should just measure them?!

You must measure them since people change 'em and your eye isn't calibrated yet.

Hi Matt
You don't need new calipers , just the 305mm brackets that hold calipers,
always here to help,
Dave
