So if you can get good performance with a 2WD using winter tyres then you are going to save money and be safer than if you bought an AWD and stuck with the summer tyres. Obviously AWD with winter tyres is the best bet but not what everyone wants or can afford. |

Present company excluded, my observations are that many 4WD/AWD drivers are less incline to shod winter tyres in the misplaced belief that their vehicles can handle anything thrown at them.
