Default Change of wheels and comfort

I have 205 / 60 / 16 tires, I want to change to 235 / 45 / 18.

My concern is the difference in comfort. Anyone has experience about this difference? Can it be too hard with the new tires?

Thank you,

Not as comfy as the 16 inch tyres as sidewall is much stiffer and less of it. Look much better with 18 though, and handles better as the tyres don’t roll as much.

When pushed hard a lower profile is liable to handle better, but for every day driving the slight extra compliance in the sidewall will benefit handling and steering at sensible speeds. In NET terms low profile tyres don't automatically handle better all round - they simply move the needle on the dial of handling (and comfort) compromise.

I don't know what the road maintenance is like around your way but around here it's appalling, my view is the lower the profile of the tyre - the closer the expensive alloy rim is to the edge of the pot hole, add in the 'comfort' factor and I'd be inclined to stay with the 16s
