Default My newly acquired Gul Yellow 855 T5R

Finally got round to getting my "dream" Volvo. I've had a string of them starting with:
1996 850 T5 CD Estate in Metallic Ruby Red - from new now sold
1998 C70 T5 GT Coupe in Saffron Pearl with all options - from new, sold
2008 C30 T5 Polestar R-Design SE Lux in pearlescent white - still have it
2011 C70 T5 Polestar Solstice Edition - still have it

The T5R is showroom perfect outside, mechanically absolutely perfect now that I've done all the oily bits plus engine mounts and brakes - and not a fault code in sight other than for a burnt out passenger side interior temp sensor. Can't buy one for love nor money so methinks a demon electronics engineer is required to make up a new thermistor for it. Only thing left to do is a retrim of the drivers seat and steering wheel as the Alcantara is a little tired

Yes, tried Volvo - apart from an astronomical price its been discontinued for years. Tried Scandix, Pfs, all the usual places - no joy

Very nice.

I do love our V70R but one day when money isn’t an object I might go out and buy an 850 T5R / R in yellow as well - it is in my opinion the definitive iteration of the breed.

Volvo are discontinuing a lot of things for the older cars these days.Volvo is a shadow of what it used to be and isn't really interested in the older stuff. It's main objective is to flog you a new car every 5 years or so, same as all the manufacturers these days.

The parts manager, Dave, at my local dealer is brilliant. He went through the whole UK network and the GCP classic parts warehouse. No joy. Best we can find is s/h on eBay from Lithuania - hmmmmmmmmmmm.
