Thanks Charles & RT, yes the timing could be better what with summer hols & things and yes, auction is a bad idea (that's where I found her in the first place!!). Piston heads might be worth a shot - forgot about them.

She's far to good to break, but I might have found somewhere I can park her up for a while if I really must. Can't afford to run two and the estate is more useful to me, for my business, right now. Hopefully, if I can sort the lambda sensor and get it MOT'd, I'll be running the V70 from next weekend.

It's now on Pistonheads;

Failing that, next stop Ebay - it's got to go!

It's a crying shame - I think it's a great car. No, really. I'd buy it myself if I had the funds, or more accurately, if my wife would let me have a second Volvo!

I do hope you sell it 'as is' and not to be broken - it's too good for that and would be a good car to see someone through a lot more motoring.

Good luck

Now on Ebay!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=170523924955

Low start and realistic reserve - bid for a bargain, got to go seeing as the V70 passed it's MOT today!

I do hope you don't get any of the 'how mush u take 4 cash?" brigade or the "can you deliver it to whatever-land?" kind of questions.

Just a thought; you don't actually say how long you've owned the car in your own name.

So many adverts on ebay are traders making out as private sellers that I'd put it in the ad that it's yours and not some px or auction car you've just picked up.

I know you don't mean it this way but the line "Recently did a 1500 mile, one week, "tour" of ..." sounds too much like a trader taking a car for a run to check whether he can sell it withouth doing any/much work on it.

Hopefully you get a good price for it.

Rgds & good luck

( Just realised, I'm the only person that's commented on here - I can't believe no-one else is interested in an 850 saloon? )

Hi Charles, i do say - "in the last year" etc.... and MOT was last Nov so anyone with a brain should work out I've had it a while. The "tour" was going round the country fitting media displays in Halfords stores for Autoglym in all that snow in Jan. That's why I need the V70!

I know it's obvious to anyone with half a brain, it's just that whenever I've tried to sell a car on ebay I've found that most bidders fell way short of the 50 percent level.

Hope you get a good result.

Seriously? I don`t know of any trader who would test drive a car for 1500 miles in a week!
