Excellent stuff, it'll be " as left the factory" soon. Just think of all that cash you are saving, not giving it to a proffessional restorer to do! My 145 has temporally stalled, the welder has "arc-eye", crack in helmet glass. Oh dear. But i'm consoling myself with restoring a BSA M21, lllllllate 30's, the while. Had it in shed for yonks, time to do it.

Getting there. Hopefully the suspension and steering will be a bit of an upgrade. Done the steering idler arm upgrade and the new old 18mm 164 ARB arrived today. New poly bushes, springs and bilsteins and when all installed I’ll redo the camber and castor.

A mate use to have a 145, had uprated springs and Bilsteins and worked really well in his 145. He is a principal automotive engineer and knows his stuff. If you search DJS (his user name) he mentions his 145 suspension setup. Make sure you do camber and castor after done, Amazon Cars have recommendations on their website to what to set it at. I'm replacing all of the steering ball joints too while I'm there. Will also check the steering box adjustment as well.

Hi. How did you get the filter housing apart? I'm assuming it's the disposable type. Cheers

Mitch, did you write down the number of the replacement filter you used?

New user name, is that where you're from?

No I just got it from Brookhouse. Think Skandix states the dimensions if anyone wanted to source from elsewhere.

Yeah that’s my home district. Hometown is called Ayr.

Thanks, i'll do that. Welder still off, hope i'm not going to have find another, rare chaps these days, an his work is really good.
Meanwhile, the BSA has had it's magneto rewound, an big-end is being worked on; the con rod is one piece, with roller bearings, so you have to unbolt the two flywheels, to regrind the crankpin, fit oversize rollers. Expensive!
Good cheer, merry gentlemen an women, let nothing you dismay.

Have done the front suspension and steering; 164 springs, Bilstein shocks, poly bushes, ball joints, rods and bronze/grease idler arm mod. Rear suspension today and then I need to check camber, castor and toe in.

Ordered parts for a wee engine performance upgrade; TT3 cam, 7kg flywheel, 2 " exhaust along with a new clutch, aluminium/steel timing gears set and the other bits needed for the job.

Would like a B20B head for the engine upgrade, anyone got one they'd be willing to sell to a good cause? :-)
