No, you were lying....... and now you're back tracking.
At least we have the measure of what you're about and good luck with all your future knowledgeable "tuning" efforts.

The actual intended use for this chip is to test it out as I know a specialist tuner with a dyno. I was always going to remap but only after the sat nav update becomes live again, as I don't want the map to be overwritten and cause issues.
It would be interesting to see whether they meet their power claims but unfortunately I won't be able to report on this until I've had the sat nav map update as I want to get it all done in one big hit. I also have dice/vida to check out what it does, whether dpf fills quicker etc to give people a proper review

I have a remapped S60 D3, all the dealer knows is he sees a red light on his VIDA plugin which stops any updates to the map at service time. My remap involved benching the ECU not done via the OBD II port as that was not possible at the time with trilocked ECUs. I've been running a remap for over a year. I also tried a plug in box which worked but I prefer the software remap for drive.

Yeah the ecu would have to be benched to be mapped but the people I know do this all the time

Cars do go faster with tuning boxes. That's a given but you won't be able to tell how it's achieving this because the fuel figures are corrupted. The corruption is also the reason why economy "improves" because the computer calculations are based on inaccurate lower fuel pressures. The dpf data will be of some interest but how long are you intending on keeping the box connected for the sake of curiosity? The state of the EGR long term would be interesting too considering the rich fuel mix caused by the box. I think the only positive is that when you're done, there'll be no shortage of takers for the box so you'll at least get your money back.

I plan to run it over a full tank and work out mpg by taking milage reading and brimming the tank again. I'll try and get a pre/post egr picture too but make no promises! On my last car I had quite a savage remap 136bhp to 180, so doing from map to box I should be able to give people some good comparisons for this particular product - and if I can get some time off to get up north I can it dynod too!
