You should be able to remove the back seat and the panel behind to gain access to the lock mechanism on the inside. You might have to employ a small child to reach it however, or alternatively Inspector Gadget and his long arms... http://adventuresofthepawpatrol.wiki...spector_Gadget

Today I succeeded to open it, took off the back seat, the panel behing it, then I could get inside the trunk up to my shoulders and with the longest extension reached the bolts on one of the side locking mechanism, loosen them up and finished unscrewing with a grapple tool.
I now discovered a number of muscles in my body that didn’t know that existed! |

So can I call you Inspector Gadget from now on then?
Can you see what has been damaged / can you fix the problem?

What I discovered is that if you move the handle past a certain point, you can not go back, and is a matter of adjustment, as the car will be taken apart for painting we’ll take care of all that. |

Always lift a PV trunk lid in the centre. If you lift it quickly at the outer end of the lower edge it can bend the hinges. I think I'm right in saying that the lock catch for the open position is only on one side so you will also bend the hinge that way. Lift to release the catch and then lower with care using the handle.
With a bent hinge, the lid won't close correctly but you don't have to be too brutal to tweak the lid and bend the hinges back to square. If the lid is badly out of line it can come down and chip the paint. |
