Default Fuel Pump?

Hi, this noise had been gradually getting louder. Can anyone tell me if its the fuel pump on its way out. Its the wine noise in the video.

Thanks

On my T4 the fuel pump made that noise on the old one and the brand new high pressure one....ignore it, you will find it alters with how much fuel in the tank. You probably notice it more now as you are listening for it, and also noticed it first on a low tank.

Walbro pumps tend to be noisy, there are aftermarket ones which are quieter, but then that is more money for what?

does indeed sound like a fuel pump, a little nosier than it should be, it might just be labouring due to a bit of rubbish blocking the sock slighty, if your confident then pop the pump out of the tank and have a look at the sock, if it looks clogged give it a little clean and see if it make a diffrence if not then start saving for a new pump so when / if it gives up you have the funds to replace it.

Ok thanks for the advice. Its only recently that it started making that noise. I never noticed it before at all and it has got louder. I see they are a tad expensive so I will start saving now. Luckily bonus coming this month :-)

Cheers

i would seriously look at giving it a clean first, im not saying it will fail, but im not saying it wont, just have some extra cash around just in case, if your luck is anything like mine it will fail just when you really need the car and monies is a bit tight

It is normal for these pumps to be noisy as said, you can clean the filter in the tank on the pump but depending on mileage it will be a waste of time!
Better to change the larger filter under the car by the back wheel this is cheaper than a new pump.

You can buy a replacement high pressure pump that will fit the plastic pot in the tank for as little as £35 off ebay from a well established tuning company, so no saving really involved, off the shelf brand new some are noisier than others!
