Have you had a look through the tyre choice sticky at the top of the forum?
http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=102374 There are a few choices and opinions/reviews on it. Do you have any in mind? |

Hi there and thanks for the Sticky.
Apologies, new to the forum and still finding my way around! I will scan that first Cheers! I will either get a spare set of Winter tyres for 4 months of the year, and change to my summers, or just by a good set of All Season tyres. Obviously at £200 a corner, some decent mileage is quite important. Grip and noise are also good requirements. I am not bothered at the tyre make, rather the above qualities are more important. I am also after a remap and I see in the Midlands there are an awful lot of people doing them. I spoke to 2 different companies here; http://www.quickrremap.co.uk/volvo-ecu-remap http://www.midlandremaps.co.uk/ They were both really nice guys and considering it is only a software change, and the torque matches the RICA tune, I am considering giving them a go. Money Back guarantee on quickremap as well. Obviously peoples experiences are very welcome here!! Thanks to one and all. Steve |

As a rule of thumb I'd say the bigger the rims the less choice of tyre and most expensive ones to boot. 17" rims have the best tyre choice, give the most comrotable ride and are the cheapest by far. As you've bought a Sport though handling may be more of a priority for you. The 18" would be a good compromise with a good tyre choice and not too expensive.
You can expect 40 to 60 thousand miles with the high milage tyres suggested in the XC90 tyre thread at the top of the page. A poor milage tyre will give 13 to 17 thousand miles. So a big difference.
