Got to do the passenger side wheel bearing on my missus’s V70 (it’s not too bad so I’m waiting for the weather to improve as I’ll be working outside).
I was in the local Volvo breakers the other day getting something else, so I picked up a spare hub complete with old bearing attached just in case I need it. I’ve now bought the correct torx bits for my impact gun, but it turns out that an 11 mm 6 sided socket winds them out pretty easily! (bolts are an E14 fit for reference) I’ve got a DeWalt DCF889 cordless impact gun… not found a bolt that it won’t shift yet. Expensive, but an excellent bit of kit. I’ve had a look at Robert DIYs video on Youtube (he’s a top bloke) and the job looks pretty easy – reckon it shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours. |

V70 may be different from the 850.
My 850 problem was pushing the drive shaft out of the bearing. It may require more than a 'tap' to remove! https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...=190552&page=4 |
