Default Storing seat position - how?

I think I'm missing something obvious here. Trying to update the stored seat position in my 2019 V60.

Manual says push and hold M, then one of the numbered buttons until it beeps and says stored in the driver display, but this doesn't work. Any combination of the above fails too.

All the buttons work (the light comes on when you push M, and the individual buttons will cause the seat and mirrors to move. I just can't save the new position.

Driver profiles are turned on but not linked to keys. Trying another profile has no effect. It definitely used to work because I managed to save the current position there...

What am I doing wrong?

I think you press M till it lights up, release, then press the number.

I know its not intuitive, every other car I had you held M and the number at the same time. I managed to erase mine the other week!

Agree.

With mine you press M, it lights, then press a number and you get a little musical tone and it saves.

1- Adjust the seat and mirrors as you wish
2- press M and immediately press 1 or 2
3- to load one of the seat settings, keep pressing 1 or 2 to load your saved seat/mirror position
