Presumably it would work just as well on a V40, right?
I don't think that it will - I suspect the V40 is truly OBD-compliant so a generic Code reader would probably be a better use of your money. Check the relvant section of the forum to see if your car is compliant; otherwise I'll happily make you one.

I'm going to produce a second batch of these readers, as there's been more interest than I anticipated.

The first 2 have been spoken for:

LPTJoe and 827Roverman.

The next three of that batch will go to the next three people who pay; the batch should be going out at the beginning of next week, and I'll contact you individually.

The second batch will be of ten and again it will be first come, first served.

Many thanks to all who've expressed interest.

Err it might do....
The pdf document I came across that gave me the idea to expand upon the basic code reader described in the article here: linky, states that other Volvo models built between 1996 and 1998 use a similar pre-OBD2 software and output error codes in the same way.

The pdf is still online and can be found here: http://www.paerl.it/volvo/obd2schema.pdf

Owners of these cars would have to check which pins are used for fuel and ignition etc but all you would need are a few extra cores in the cable to add functionalality for other models.

Hi,
I would like one if still available. Let me know if so and how to pay. I presume it will work on a Dec '97 940?
Cheers,
LeeP
