Default USB Audio

Forgive me if this has been asked before, just collected the T8 on Friday and I’ve read the Sensus ignores folder structure and uses file tags. Isn’t this true, it will kill me as not all my music is correctly tagged, or comes from apple playlists.

Is there any way to use a folder structure - BMW and Porsche do.

No, no way. Spend one weekend tagging your music and you will be fine. Annoying as it is

I use this tag editor: https://www.mp3tag.de/en/index.html

It's very good (and free).

I just have mine on an old iPod permanently plugged into the USB. Works perfectly. Don’t see the point of all this stress about tagging MP3 files.

Thank you everyone, so what would I need to tag a bunch of say 100 songs that I have in a playlist? Set them all to the same ficticious album?

If you had all your music on iPod, then yes. But if you have it on USB, then putting it all on iPod and dealing with iTunes, it is the same hassle like tagging. No difference

This is not completely true, and not even a perfect solution. Even with perfectly tagged albums/songs, the stupid Gracenote function will make sensus ignore your own tagging. No way to disable that.

I’ve just had exactly this, retagged one of my playlists (230 tracks) to become a new fictitious album, wiped all the other tags, added an artwork across the whole ‘album’ and then GraceNote seems to completely wreck it.

Is there any way to disable GraceNote? I’ve switched off the online search but it still uses the actual database.
