Ian,

Sorry to read that you seemed to be the only one there. Although a bit remote for those of us down south the Inverness meets have usually been reasonably attended.

Perhaps a week-end visit to Heriot might make up a little? There are a few old bricks in the garden - nothing special - but some do have some ICE mods (Volvo units only).

It can be soul destroying to make the effort and others seem not to. It would be highly unlikely that others had come and left before you arrived.

PM if you fancy coming for a visit.

Ian Junor

sorry i didn`t make it,slipped on ice when taking the dogs, pulled by back out,so spent the day in bed being massaged every two hours(i had a serious op four years ago on my back so can`t take any risks)it would be a good idea to try and get a scottish section sec. organized soon in order to avoid this happening again .

Well i set off around about 9:45 and five miles into the journey my passenger side front tyre decided to let go of its air rather spectacularly..... see the pic of my one remaining front tyre, so i spent the sunday, and i think i should mention, my birthday on the side of the road then in a garage forking out £97.45 each for two new tyres.

Lucky me!!!!!

Malcolm - Yes it was a bit chilly - the outside temp guage only got above freezing in Inverness...it troughed on -7 over Drumochter and I had a few issues keeping the windscreen clear enough to see...Sorry to hear about your fall and having an iffy back already - this cold weather won't help either.

Motas - nasty looking tyre that - no worries - at least you'll have sound tyres on for the winter. I just had 2 new Kumho's put on..£130 balanced and fitted for the pair.

I wonder if Kev240 is a Grandad yet?

Migrator - I may take you up on that if I am going to be in the borders - I am not usually allowed past IKEA @ Straiton (my current car came from Peebles but I got a special pass for that trip)

How on earth has the tyre only delaminated a 2" wide strip on the inner edge.

The remaining tread looks to be low but legal, I would have serious questions for the manufacturers. I could understand if it was feathered off due to tracking or worn bushes or ball joints.

The previous incumbent (and he was good at the task) resigned for personal reasons about the same time that the club closed the forums temporarily. There has been no-one coming forward after the re-opening of the forums with an offer to assume the mantle of Scottish Section secretary/organiser.

Perhaps one of the 'high heid yins' could respond as to the duties/tasks that go with the post. I believe that there may even be a 'selection process' to be followed.

It would be to the mutual benefit of the members to have a volunteer come forward.

Apologies for not turning up at Inverness, but daughter is still hanging on, and due to the weather conditions it did not seem the best idea to travel 200 miles north, further away from her!
I think we could do with re forming a proper 'Scottish Section', I was the Chairman/Secretary/Events Organiser/General Dogsbody a few years ago, but due to the lack of support at the time, I gave it up. Laclan started off on a good footing till he suddenly vanished ! We really need to get together at a central point, (Stirling ??), at the start of the year and get organised, as there are plenty members in Scotland to have a thriving section.
After the Christmas/New Year period is over, perhaps we could plan a meeting.
Cheers,
Kevin.

The guy i took it to said that it was because it wasn't running at the correct pressure, but i was keeping them at 30 -33 psi, so i don't know. but i'm goin to keep an eye on the new ones to make sure its not the, tracking, camber, or bushes ect.
