Default Oil Cooler Hoses

Just in case anyone is thinking they’re not leaking yet they’ll be fine this is the state of the two original oil cooler hoses from my 1994 940 replaced this evening.

This is a couple of new and very reasonably priced Skandix replacements.

And this is the new ones in situ

It is not the nicest of jobs, requires draining the coolant and most likely removing the oil filter for access. Worth it though to avoid a potentially devastating leak which fortunately I spotted before it was too late. I’d recommend replacing at the same time as an oil and filter change for simplicity.

Thanks for posting this - just looked under my car and I've got the same problem that needs sorting.

Volvo parts are also reasonably priced.

I think half the problem is oil leakage onto these pipes, mostly caused by the lack of a check valve in the breather.
