Default VDO Speedometer

Hi, the speedo needle on my 1991 J 740 has snapped due to bodged repair, so I'm looking for a VDO Speedometer, either just the speedo or complete instrument cluster if that's how it comes. Any help appreciated, thanks.

That's the biggest problem when you try to 'release' the needle hub. Depending where it has snapped I have found that if you are VERY careful you can superglue the two parts together in a straight line. Try a PM to 'mrmeringo' (Tommy) on here for a cluster.

Does the needle off a yasaki fit the VDO?

In short Tommy ... don't know. I could dig one out and try and have a look during the course of the coming week.

Hi, It's the metal that links from the plastic needle into the speedo mechanism that's snapped rather than the plastic needle itself so I don't know how you would fit this if you could. Think it s a speedo unit or cluster I need in all honesty. Thanks for looking though. Mike
