Default question on window motors

My drivers window is not working.
I can hear the motor but it is not going down.
Probably the gears are slipping in the motor.
So my questions are:
Is the motor the same on front and back window on the same side of the car??
Thinking of swaping them.
If not can anyone point me where can I buy the remanufactured one?
I've seen them on us websites but not i EU
Or if anyone has a good one for sale and willing to ship it to Croatia can you please send me a message.
Regards!

The front and rear are completely different, and so are the drivers/passengers sides. Each door has it's own unique motor mechanism. So no, the rear one will not fit on the front. If you can hear the motor running but the window is not moving, then most probably the cable wire is broken.

What year is your car? I have a spare mechanism from a 2003 V40, which is the same as the S40. I don't mind posting to Croatia. Just need to check how heavy the mechanism is and how much postage would be

The year is 2004 last year of production.
Will check the mechanism next week and try to figure out the exact problem and will get back to you Gatos.
I know the mechanism for front and rear are different but was wandering about the motors themselves.
Thanks

Actually, I am not sure if the same sided front and rear mechanisms are the same. I have taken the. Out before, but never paid close attention to them. Wouldnt be surprised if they are the same
