Default 265 Estate 1981 40K Genuine Miles - Price?

A friend of mine has a 265 Estate 1981 with 40K genuine miles from new on the clock. It is the 2.8 ltr version. It is very well appointed - leather seats air conditioning. It has loads of history and is in excellent condition. I have been trying to research how much one of these is worth - there do not seem to be very many of these about.

Are these a sought after car?

Just the fact thats its a 264 makes it pretty damned rare these days, but also being a 1981 version means its getting on a bit and there arent many left.....In theory it should be worth quite a bit, BUT....

Its still a volvo 200 series, and volvo 200 series aint worth that much to the everyday person. Only enthusiasts would be the type to buy a 200 series in the quad figure price range....

Depending on the condition (got any pics?) i would probably start out with it up for sale at £700 or £800, possibly if its near perfect start at £1000.....percevere with that and make a good description with plenty of high quality photos and you may just get that sort of amount, but in todays climate its hard to know what to expect....
