Yes I would but....
My history is a 240, in the late 80s from memory, 740 - what a limo!, 850 , another fab car, S60 in deep metallic red, super comfy but tight in the back, v70 which I kept about 13 years, and my current xc60 that I have had 7 years and will keep as its the 2.4 diesel.
I am absolutely in the market for a volvo right now, but as it would have to be petrol and 4 cylinder I am not confident in the engineering quality and longevity yet. They had some real issues in the teens.Fabulous cars, and great on a pcp, but if you are spending your own cash ? I would bet on mine for the next 5 years rather than a new xc40 or xc60.
If I had to buy a volvo right now, it would be a 2.4 diesel xc60 with as low mileage as possible, but look at the prices... and I already have one.
In 30 plus years of volvos, the only time I have been let down was when I left the radio on and flattened the battery, or a new battery has failed. I now carry a mini jump pack.
I have always tried to stick to volvo service schedule, which is sometimes difficult due to bad info from service at volvo dealers. I now travel a bit further to a good dealer.
I am watching and waiting rather than buying.
I have looked at other brands but I have a thing against Vw Audi group, and with other brands there is always something that says no. For example the hyundai tucson looks a good car until you realise the driver safety is " marginal " according to ncap.

If you want safety iin this age of texting, drinking and drugging while driving, volvo has to be on your list. But you cant have mine!
