Hi guys,

My GF has a 1.6 diesel drive C30 with all the R design bits on it, previous owner put the 19" r-design wheels on it and when she was trying to order new discs and pads the retailer has replied with this

Now I don't see how a larger wheel would effect the brakes but I just don't know

Anyone shed any light at all?

Thanks

Duncan

Hi Mate,

Provided the disc with caliper on sits clear of the wheel and has the same attachement (i.e not trying to put fiat discs on a Volvo) there shouldn't be a problem. Only likely situation where you would get this is if you tried to put brakes which were too big on.. or drastically reduced the size of the wheel which is not the case.

Not sure what that person is getting at there as it wouldn't matter.. with a bigger wheel braking performance can be reduced but easily compensated if you find it an issue by putting on larger brakes from the Ford ST.. which shares the same hub.

Hope this helps,

I'll answer this quick and easy!

ALL and I mean ALL C30/S40/V50/C70 family have the same discs and pads on the rear (278mm). From 2004 to 2012 (S40/V50) and 2006 (C30/C70), from 1.6d to 2.4 D5, from 1.6 to 2.5 T5 - all the same.

So 300mm fronts and 278mm solid discs at the back?
