Seatbelts
Quiet Sunday afternoon....Finally got around to fitting the inertia reel belts I got ages ago...
Original statics were a nice feature and talking point with passengers, but a pain in the butt to use on a daily basis Cheers Gerry

Out of interest, how well do these new inertia belts fit, & how obtrusive are the inertia units?
Also, what condition are your old belts in, & are what pattern are the clasp fixings? If they're the right type, I might be interested in buying them as the webbing on mine is knackered.

I'll get a pic later, but pretty unobtrusive....I used the same fittings for the pillar mounts and drilled a couple of new holes in the tunnel for the stalks, with large reinforcing plates behind the nuts..
My the webbing on my original belts is fine, the chrome bits are a little untidy. Clasps attach to a big hoop on top of the tunnel. Cheers Gerry

Ah - you've got the earlier type fixing I'm after the type that clips to the combined socket unit with the red release levers.
Thanks though

Mine are exactly like that......I bought units from a VW van....All you need to check its the length. from the reel to the pillar fixing, to the clasp, (allowing for your body of course....). Then ensure that the extracted length is sufficient with some leeway.
Cheers Gerry

I think that it was an early 1990s model. I used the Ford bolts. The car is currently being painted and if you like when I get it back at the weekend I can take some photos and email them.
I removed all of the Fiesta parts and they just all slotted together in the Amazon - all fitted in 20 minutes. This is the second time I have fitted some Fiesta belts in a Volvo Amazon |
