Default Location of Sim holder V90

Struggling to find the holder for a sim card in my V90. From everything I've read, it should be a small black box located under the rear floor towards the seat backs, but I can't see it there as per the picture in my manual. I attach an image taken this evening, and perhaps I'm just being dim but for the life of me, I just cannot locate it.

Does your V90 have Volvo on Call? if not it might not have one. My MY18 V90 doesn't have a sim card slot - I use a https://www.amazon.co.uk/Huawei-E557.../dp/B00U7POBOE MIFI system for the internet on the go. It works really well.

That would explain it then.

I've been struggling to connect using my iPhone x as a hotspot or with wifi. When I explained to the dealer who sold me the car they said the easiest way to connect is via the onboard system using a data sim. Ordered one via Amazon, but before opening it, went to locate the holder and couldn't find it.

My car doesn't have Volvo on Call, but nowhere in the manual did it say it had to have to use an onboard sim card, merely detailing the methods one can connect the car to the internet with. I assumed (foolishly) that this option to connect was a standard factory fit, and didn't know it was all part of Volvo On call.

As above, if VoC wasn't specified as a factory option there won't be a modem or SIM reader fitted.

Its not there, there is a separate box about the size of a pack of cards to the left of that bigger box if VOC is fitted.

I wonder if any of you kind gents have a step-by-step guide on how to connect an iPhone X to my V90 (2017). No matter how I try, wi-fi, bluetooth, hotspot, none seem to connect meaning when I go to check what apps are available etc, it says no connection.

While I'm not a complete technophobe, I am struggling hence the reason why I thought it would be easier to buy a sim, insert it and hey presto!

I take it you have it paired for voice etc. ?

Is your hotspot turned on at the phone end?

Yes it pairs fine via Bluetooth for voice and messages, just unable to access the download centre. I’ve turned on hotspot on tel.

There are step by step videos on how to do it in the manual app - have you downloaded that?

You cannot until you have the latest software update - I was told that yesterday by the dealer.
