Default Wiring help Needed

Is there anyone out there who’s into auto electrics?
First off, I’m talking about a Volvo V70 2014 with keyless ignition.

I’ve had some problems with the driver’s outer door handle sticking so I’m trying to fix it myself.
It would appear as though the door lock mechanism wiring is all inter woven with the wiring harness which in turn is attached to the metal panel which sits behind the door trim/card.

In other words, I could not remove the lock mechanism from the metal panel and it’s turned out to be a real pain in the backside.

I’m doing the job outside and a one point it threw it down with rain and I needed to get the car door shut pretty quick so had no option but to cut some wires so I could at least pop the metal panel back on it own.
On inspection of the said wires 4 in all, aren’t 2 of them the same colour code namely
green / black.

Does anyone know if they are ground wires so won’t make any difference which way round they are connected or does someone have a wiring diagram they could upload.

I do have a multi-meter and was thinking, could I do a continuity test between one of the green / black wires and the car body to establish if it’s a ground wire, only trouble is if it’s not a ground wire could I end up shorting something out?

I’ve included a few photos just to give some idea of the wires in question.
Just in case anyone is interested I’ve also included a photo of the small spring with measurements.
